2010 Student Research Project Symposium
The Eighteenth Annual Ohio Space Grant Consortium (OSGC) Student Research Symposium will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010, at the Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI) in Cleveland, Ohio. The Symposium is an integral part of the OSGC Scholarship/Fellowship Program, and attendance is mandatory for all supported students. Student faculty advisors and new OSGC Scholars and Fellows are also welcome to attend.

At the Symposium, undergraduate and graduate students present the research they accomplished during the preceding academic year and are prepared to discuss their research project with faculty, students, and other attendees. The research should be presented by giving sufficient background material so that it is understandable to someone not knowledgeable in the research area presented. Please keep in mind this is to be an enjoyable experience and will be noncompetitive.

Senior Scholars and Fellows will deliver 15-minute oral presentations including a Question and Answer session. Junior, Community College, Education, and Bridge Scholars will prepare posters illustrating their research projects and field questions during the poster session.

NOTE: If you are using an Internet site for directions, be mindful that they may INCORRECTLY route you through NASA Glenn Research Center. Note that you will not be able to drive through NASA Glenn to reach OAI with the directions provided by MapQuest without a NASA badge!!! Security is very tight at the Center, and NASA security will not make exceptions to this rule. This will cost you valuable time, so anyone needing directions, please contact the OSGC Main Office.

OSGC will pay for the cost of the room only. Any additional charges, such as telephone calls or other incidentals charged to the room must be covered personally by the occupant(s). Students will have double occupancy. It is imperative that you mark your registration form appropriately, indicating that you do indeed need a room and, if applicable, with whom you prefer to room.

Travel Expenses
If you attend one of the schools listed as eligible for overnight accommodations, you are also eligible for mileage reimbursement. Mileage will be reimbursed at the rate of $0.50 per mile. Reimbursement will be provided by your campus representative. It is expected that students will carpool. If you do not know the other OSGC scholars and fellows at your school, contact your campus representative for a list of names and phone numbers. If everyone drives in a separate car, we will be unable to reimburse you. NOTE: if for some reason you are the only person coming from your school, you will be compensated for driving alone.

Advisors
OSGC encourages faculty advisors to attend the Symposium, but will not be able to cover their travel and lodging expenses. Please remind your advisor to register if he/she does intend to come. That way, we can be certain to have adequate refreshments.
