Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Project ASTRO As a Project ASTRO teacher, you must commit to attending the training workshop, teach space science/astronomy during the school year, attend two follow-up sessions during the school year, and have a minimum of four visits with your partner astronomer. Astronomer visits may include hands-on activities, illustrated talks on astronomical ideas and discoveries, question-and-answer sessions, and evening star parties for students and their families. Astronomers also can assist with local curriculum development and planning, provide astronomy resources and understanding, help with student science projects, and serve as role models and mentors for students. The initial training session is generally one and a half days long and is FREE. Graduate credit is generally available through a local institution of higher learning. Fees and tuition for graduate credit are the responsibility of the participant. For more information about Project ASTRO, please contact the OSGC Main Office at 440.962.3032. |
